Hi,
My name is Ashley and I live in Prince George's County, MD. I started creating mixed media art in 2015 as a self-care hobby and one piece of art eventually turned into 50 pieces of art. Creating art takes me into another world and I just feel calm and free.
When I am not creating art I enjoy baking, cooking, drawing, reading, being in nature, and virtually spending time with family and friends. I am a mother to a lovely and energetic 1-year-old son.

My story starts in Wilmington, Delaware where I was raised in a family that greatly appreciated art and learned to use my artistic ability to see what I was gifted in doing. From there I went to college and received a degree at Towson University with a focus on painting.
I found my true love and friend in college, married her, and stayed in the Baltimore metro area. From Maryland I have helped raise a family of four and continue to create paintings and learn what it means to be an artist businessman.
Ampersand is a small string band, so named because our core duo of Beth Lawton and Dick Hogle “adds in” other musicians both at home and when we travel. We offer a family-friendly, interactive set of songs and instrumentals, from colonial times through Civil War music,1920s and 30s folk/blues, to modern folk tunes. We play guitars, banjo, mandolin, hammered dulcimer, and often are joined by fiddlers, and a stand-up bass player – lots of songs and rich harmonies and we’re happy to have the audience ask questions, join in on singalongs, and just have a great time with this wonderful tradition
