Fresh Academicz is an urban arts academy located in the heart of the Arts & Entertainment district in downtown Hagerstown. The academy reaches inner city youth through hip hop culture where students explore the art of hip hop through dance, rap, MC, and graffiti. The Urban Nation H.I.P.-H.O.P. Choir of Washington, DC is the brainchild of Dr. Sheila Johnson Newman and renowned DC musician Dr. Rickey Payton, Sr., who is the choir’s president and chief executive officer. Focusing on the acronym H.I.P. - H.O.P. (Hope, Integrity, Power - Helping Our People), the choir’s mission is to channel the creative and artistic energies of a targeted group of youth into a dynamic, structured group that will foster excellence in all facets of their lives. Students who range in ages 13 to 18 participate in the Urban Nation H.I.P.-H.O.P.
Greater Annapolis Ballet, a 501(c)3 organization, was established in the Fall of 2019 for coaching, private lessons, and supplemental technique classes for homeschool and hybrid learning students. In the summer of 2020, GAB held its first Summer Intensive, and in the Fall of 2020, GAB became a full-time school and company, opening its doors to all students.
