The Wilds Writer's Studio is a teen-focused workshop and development organization that brings working writers together with young writers to support their growth, help them develop their craft, and provide personal examples of how writing can work into professional life. Students can take workshops, join small groups, and work one-on-one with those working within the industry to find their unique voice.
Annapolis, Maryland: On Thursday, August 20, 2025, the Poet Laureate of Annapolis, Jefferson Holland, presented a program of poets & poems to benefit the SPCA of Anne Arundel county at Bay Ridge Wine & Spirits in Annapolis, MD. I was a part of the 20 poets who read a newly created poem. Former Poet Laureate of Maryland, Grace Cavalieri, and Youth Poet Laureate Tara Prakash read lovely poems.
I read a new poem, "Chase" inspired by Jack London's "Call of the Wild" and his mythical dog Buck.
Colleen Hawk is a visual artist residing in Glen Burnie, MD. She graduated in 2014 from Delaware State University with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts. Currently, she is working out of her home studio and producing paintings in oil, watercolor, and acrylic.

Maria Buszinski has been creating art under the alias Momma Rain for the past 10 years and following her passion to create. She currently is working primarily with acrylics on canvas - in particularly creating figurative art and portraitures. Her paintings trend towards vibrant colors and cherub-like faces that stare back and can provide an initial a “cheerful” or “whimsical” impression but with a moment’s contemplation her subject matter reveals a grittier, political and socially relevant depth.
