Hi! My name is Amanda Hagerman and I'm a former high school art teacher turned full-time artist and metalsmith. Each piece of jewelry created in my studio is crafted using a variety of traditional and old world metalsmithing techniques. I love what I do and am passionate about designing beautiful, quality pieces of jewelry for you to enjoy! When you purchase my jewelry, you're purchasing precious handcrafted works of art. These works of art become woven into the fabric of your life, spanning from the day-to-day to the meaningful milestones. Jewelry is intimate. It expresses who you are.
I am a graduate of UNH (class of 1970 BS in art educ.) and MICA (1978) with a Master's Degree in Art Education. I taught art in elementary schools, both public and private for a total of 18 years. I began my professional work in 2003, when I retired from teaching, and opened my business, "Your Art's Desire," which provides commissioned artwork of all sorts. I am the sole proprietor and do all the work myself. The majority of my work has been portrait painting in either oils or pastels.

"Writer, artist, and all-round creative type who's slowly letting go of her perfectionistic ways and learning just how messy and beautiful life can be."
I was born in a little town Steubenville, Ohio and raised in the Northern Panhandle of West Virginia called Weirton. Twenty minutes from Pittsburgh, PA. The Steel Valley! Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Sports towns and big rivalries. Our claim to fame was our diversity, our steel mills and most of all what I call the 19. Nineteen professional, baseball, football and basketball players that came from one street in a town where sports was integrated in 1956. Amazing! the Street was Weir Avenue or “CALICO HILL” where every nationality live and worked together.
I have been creating artwork since I was a small child. My first framed artwork was a Watercolor that I created was 12 years old. As time went on I started gifting others creating small drawings, greeting cards with original drawings, or graphics for friends and co-workers. In addition, I donated my time to create posters and flyers for non-profit civic organizations in my hometown and for student events in college.

Having participated in choir activities as a child, ]onathan Stone went on to encounter the polyphonic vocal music of the Renaissance and Baroque eras in high school, performing in a capella vocal ensembles over the next twelve years. The stylistic imperatives of polyphonic vocal music, voice leading, accurate pitch and rhythmic precision, were carried on to subsequent areas of exploration.
Since the mid-1980's, Stone's primary focus has been on the performance of mid-twentieth century Brazilian song, which he refers to as "Art Samba" rather than the marketing term "bossa nova."
