Passed years have proven to be full of new beginnings, lessons and experiences. The moment I was able to sit down and recount all that occurred...Her Chaos was born, the first image of the Chaos series. My choice of mediums are colored pencils, acrylics and beads. Artist's Statement Richard Schatz I am a watercolor artist living on Annapolis , MD My passion for painting grew out of my passion for drawing which started early in life. The idea of recreating an image on paper just seemed to be a natural extension of what I saw or could create in my mind. Adding color, via watercolor, was the next step. My first realization of coloring my images started out in reproducing maritime images as you can see by this exhibit. Some of these works go back twenty years.
I started in photography more than 40 years ago with both 35mm and medium format cameras. I did weddings and a lot of travel photography and had my own darkroom, to include color printing. However, as my kids started growing up and I got busy with work, I slipped back to using point and shoot cameras for many years, to include my first few digital cameras. Then three years ago my son showed me his new DSLR. I held it in my hands, took a few photos, and was hooked. I dived right back in and am primarily shooting landscapes and nature photographs.

Anita Hagan works as both a printmaker in linoleum block relief, and as a mixed media artist. Her unique technique of combining block prints with gold leaf, beading, acrylic paint, found object and paper collage creates a powerful and vibrant work of art bursting with color and movement. In each piece, the brushstrokes are matched with the strong line and pattern of the carved block. Anita is inspired both by the natural world and the human spirit, and creates her unusual pieces in a small cottage on the Chesapeake Bay of Maryland.
