My work is my way of expressing myself through paint, canvas, ink, and paper. Sometimes I even manage to get some of the paint and ink on the paper or canvas and not all of it on me!
I create art because I must - My art reveals to the world the many sides of me. I wasn't always an artist - at least I haven't always believed myself to be an artist, but I have always felt a passionate desire to create. So now I create.
Born in Pittsburgh and now a resident of Maryland, April Brown, known as the Art Missionary of BLACCARTZ, has been a mixed medium artist since the year 2000. She has always had a passion for art, but in high school, she discovered her notable medium, acrylic on canvas. Brown, a self taught painter, finds her inspiration from other well known artist, such as Frida Kahlo and Jacob Lawrence, as well as through Black culture in America.
Andrei Kushnir, a plein air painter, has exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the United States. He is an elected signature member of the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society, the Washington Society of Landscape Painters, and the Salmagundi Club, NYC, an official US Coast Guard Official Artist, and member of Oil Painters of America. His work is in the public collections of the US Coast Guard, D.C.
Akira King was born and raised in Prince George's County Maryland. He has always had a passion for art since he was a little boy watching cartoons and has always expressed himself in some form of art throughout his life. In 2016, Akira started to pursue his art full-time by creating original portrait art. Akira uses acrylic paint on canvas to bring his original art to life. His style of black and grey with pops of color is truly an eye-catching and mesmerizing sight. Societial issues, pop culture, live events, and his imagination inspire him and his art.
Pablo Regis de Oliveira grew up in Los Angeles and BrasÍlia, absorbed in Brazilian music and culture. His study of Brazilian music started as young child, observing and participating in Brazilian carnival events and music concerts produced by his father, Floriano Regis, former Cultural Attaché of the Brazilian Consulate in Los Angeles. Floriano co-founded LA's first samba school Embrasamba, created the first Brazilian radio program in the US (The Brazilian Hour), and produced shows by such Brazilian music legends as Gilberto Gil and João Bosco.

Melissa Reeves is currently an artist living in the Appalachian Mountains of Western Maryland. She is proficient in photography, graphic design, painting, mixed media, fiber art (crochet) and other fine arts. In addition, she is also a singer/song-writer and guitar player.
Through the mediums of painting, writing and film-making; artist Scott Philip Goergens (S. Philip G.) has developed a highly imaginable world where creatures that live in our minds, whether whimsical or macabre, now can live among us; and the very flora of the planet can reclaim the territory from which man has taken.
I am a graduate of MICA in Baltimore, Class of 1978. I currently reside on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and my artworks consist of oil paintings, monoprints, posters and most recently, notecards produced from my artwork's images. Subjects include Maryland native plants, summer vegetables and heritage chickens and these result from my love of the outdoors and gardening. Past works have involved collage, assemblage, quilting and other materials executed in a 12 inch by 12 inch format.
