A 'late-in-life' painter, I took my first watercolor class in the early 2000s. My teacher told me that I could probably be good at this if I learned how to draw! A few drawing classes, more watercolor workshops, a portrait, figure, and pastel class here and there and I am loving it!
As an active member in the St Michaels Art League, I have exhibited in several venues on Maryland's Eastern Shore. Nanny Trippe has had a love for photography since a young age. What began as recording of pets and nature developed into a love of composition. “When composition, light and shadow, color and texture come into balance, it is an exciting thing. I love to spot something-be it a building, a tree or a moment in time that encompasses all these elements. “

Ampersand is a small string band, so named because our core duo of Beth Lawton and Dick Hogle “adds in” other musicians both at home and when we travel. We offer a family-friendly, interactive set of songs and instrumentals, from colonial times through Civil War music,1920s and 30s folk/blues, to modern folk tunes. We play guitars, banjo, mandolin, hammered dulcimer, and often are joined by fiddlers, and a stand-up bass player – lots of songs and rich harmonies and we’re happy to have the audience ask questions, join in on singalongs, and just have a great time with this wonderful tradition
